Over 2500 backpacks were donated to the hospital for the program.
Thanks to Verizon Wireless for their support with the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation’s Sacks for Kids Program at the Hughes Spaulding.

The Jim Mora Flag Football League—Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta runs a Flag Football program which consists of various levels of play and competition for Club members. Clubs provide in-house and intramural leagues for various age groups. (Youth ages 6-8 participate in in-house games amongst other club members. Older youth, ages 9-11, 12-14, and 16-18 participate in intramural leagues where they play and scrimmage other clubs and compete in various tournaments.) After an intense and highly competitive eight-week schedule, the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta wide league culminates with the Annual Turkey Bowl—a one day winner-take-all tournament that determines the champions for each age division-- hosted on Thanksgiving eve. In 2005, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta hosted the 3rd Annual Turkey Bowl, in which 12 clubs and over 300 athletes competed. In 2006, over 18 clubs and 400 athletes competed in the 4th Annual Bowl. This year, all 21 Metro Atlanta clubs participated, over 750 athletes combined. The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, supported the event—adding team jerseys and trophies, individual medals, and a plaque for the best tailgate party. Coach Mora lends his name to the League, and donates funds through the Count On Me Foundation to the program, to encourage involvement and support. FAMILY FITNESS VIDEO PROJECT with HealthMPowers
Jim and Shannon Mora, and their family, took part in a family fitness video in partnership with HealthMPowers, formerly Kids’ Health. The Moras were the “featured (celebrity)” family on the video, which will be available this Fall for HealthMPowers’ schools in metro Atlanta as well as other selected organizations. The DVD is designed to help families find fun and easy ways to get moving at home, at work, at school or in the community. Under the direction of HealthMPowers’ Executive Director Christi Kay, the Moras demonstrate activities families can do together----from a “commercial” competition (exercising while tv commercials are on during viewing hours), to using canned food to strength train and get a quick upper body workout at home. The DVD contains six different exercise sequences along with tips to increase family physical activity and decrease screen time.
