The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation Awards $72,000 to Children's Charities in 2011
Charities in Washington and Georgia receive funding for programs to help children in need and at risk.
SEATTLE (April 18, 2012) – The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation awarded thirteen charitable organizations grants through its sixth annual grant cycle, it was announced today. The Count On Me Family Foundation, celebrating its sixth year of service, supports children in need in Washington and Georgia. Funds for the grant cycle were raised through the annual fundraiser, the Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic (held in June 2011 in Seattle) and the Lucky Strike Bowling Benefit Bash (held in April 2011 in Seattle), and through generous donations from other individuals throughout the year. The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation has granted close to $650,000 in money and in-kind donations to children's charitable organizations in Georgia and Washington over the past six years.
“As always, we would like to acknowledge the continued support of our event sponsors and friends of the Foundation, who make the grant cycles possible from year to year,” said Shannon Mora, Vice President of the Foundation. “The caliber of the grants we received this year was outstanding, making it very difficult to decide which programs to fund. We continued to focus our efforts on organizations best aligned with our mission, and are very pleased to support these 13 amazing organizations through this year’s grants.”
The following thirteen charities received partnership grants this year: Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue (WA), Boys & Girls Clubs of King County (WA), Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (GA), Catch a Special Thrill (C.A.S.T.) (WA), Camp Fire USA: Snohomish County (WA), Go 4 the Goal (WA), Northwest Burn Foundation (WA), The Salvation Army Seattle White Center (WA), Seattle Urban Academy (WA), Special Olympics Georgia (GA), Special Olympics Washington (WA), Virginia Mason Foundation’s Nutrition and Fitness for Life program (WA), and Vision House (WA). Since 2005, the Foundation has raised money for over 50 children’s organizations in need.
The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, created in October 2005, is a 501(c)(3) organization which supports children in need, primarily in three target areas: children from low socio-economic backgrounds, mentally and physically-challenged children, and children at-risk. The Foundation affords children the opportunity to realize their potential and dreams by assisting organizations which help to create more stability in their lives, supporting advocacy for children, and supporting channels that allow children to have a voice.
